Product Description

ULTRA-CLADTM pre-finished metal features BASF's ULTRA-Cool® full strength Kynar 500® and Hylar 5000® paint finishes.  This high performance product provides the ultimate resistance against fading and weathering.  Life expectancy is 30 years minimum.  In addition to our standard colors, custom colors are also available.

Color Samples

Colors shown represent the actual colors as accurate as can be displayed on a monitor.  These are just approximations.  Free metal samples are available upon request. Additional custom colors are also available upon request.

Installation

ULTRA-CLAD® can be cut, formed, fabricated and attached using hand or power tools.  Fabrication and installation shall be in accordance with project drawings and specifications and conform to accepted sheet metal practices and industry standards.  Cutting edges should be kept sharp, clean and properly aligned.  Exercise caution during fabrication and installation to avoid damage.  Protective film must be removed immediately after installation.

Maintenance

The full strength Kynar 500® and Hylar 5000® finish on ULTRA-CLAD is a premium fluorocarbon finish and does not require maintenance.  If cleaning is desired, use mild soap and water followed by a clean water rinse.

Cool Technology

BASF's ULTRA-Cool® technology dramatically increases the reflectivity of medium to darker colors to such a degree that the product will help meet ENERGY STAR® requirements for reflectivity.

Solar Reflectance Index (SRI)

A measure of the roof's ability to reject solar heat, as shown by a small temperature rise. Materials with the highest SRI values are the coolest choices for roofing.

Emissivity (Emiss)

A measure of how well the roof surface emits thermal radiation energy — heat. The recommended emissivity for roof coatings is at least 66 percent, which means 66 percent of the thermal energy striking the surface is emitted, reducing the building's heat load and lowering cooling costs.

Reflectivity (Reflect)

Reflectivity measures radiation light reflection. High reflectivity reduces cooling costs by reflecting solar radiation in hot weather.

Gauge Thickness

Metal roofing is measured in gauges. The lower the number the thicker the material will be and hold up better to elements such as hail, wind, and debris. Standing seam metal roofing typically uses 24 or 26 gauged metal.
